KRISTI SINCLAIR

Hi, I’m Kristi Sinclair, Founder of The Compassion Hub. I am a Yoga Australia registered Mentor and Senior Yoga Teacher, level 3 (1000+hr) with 10+ years of teaching experience.
I have combined my life work that is traditional hatha yoga and feminine-form yoga to create courses, masterclasses, workshops and general classes that are grounded, invitational and never too serious. I have a light-hearted yet knowledgeable approach ensuring each experience is both conscious and supportive. As a vibrational alchemist, I love to transform the energy of those around me with a myriad of sacred instruments, cultivating sympathetic resonance Meditations and chakra sound immersion experiences.
I studied yogic philosophy and non-dualist still-mind Meditation rooted in Kashmir Shaivism with Swami Shantanada and Sarasvati Sally Dawson, who’s lineage can be traced back to Bhagavan Nityananda of Ganeshpiri, one of the most revered Siddha Gurus of the modern era.

“I am incredibly passionate about Yoga and Meditation and how good these feel on the mat, but it’s the benefits they bring off the mat in everyday life that inspires me to teach.”
How did I get here?
I went to my first ‘yoga’ class circa 2007 at a gym when I was trying out the exercise classes. I spent the next few years dropping in and out of practice. Those classes were good for my body, but eventually I found an incredible teacher, developed a consistent practice and fell in love with authentic yoga.
In 2014 I began my yoga teaching training at the Australian College of Classical Yoga with Swami Shantananda or Mataji (mother) as we called her. I had no idea what I was getting into! I thought I was learning how to teach a yoga class. Well, I did but I learned so much more.

For one year I studied and un-learned! With Mataji’s guidance I sat in still-mind Meditation for an hour a day, every day and studied non-dualist yogic philosophy. The experience was incredibly profound, and I am still unravelling the learnings to this day.

Since then I have continued to study, learn and grow. I am fortunate to have worked with some wonderful teachers and some not so pleasant life experiences – For all this training and experience I am exponentially grateful and truly humbled.

It was through my recovery from breast cancer and preventative surgeries which left me in Menopause that I developed a deeper connection to feminine-form yoga and Ayurveda. I found my body had changed so much, I had changed so much. The same practices just didn’t feel right for me anymore. Much of my training and practices were rigid and alignment-focused. They were masculine or Yang form yoga. I found myself profoundly drawn to practices that honour the natural circular patterns of the feminine energy. Practices celebrate the intuitive wisdom and innate intelligence of the female body.

Since then, I have dedicated myself to learning as much as I can, from many, many different teachers. I have been refining my lifestyle and daily practices with the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda to flow with the rhythm of my body, honour its wisdom, and embrace the divine dance of balance within. Now I am honoured to share this ancient wisdom with you.
